Windows NT client unable to connect to Windows 95 server due to encryption.

Cause:

A Windows NT workstation may not be able to connect to a shared folder on a Windows 95 server.
The password encryption method used by Windows NT is different from the method used by Windows 95.

Solution:

Change password protection or access control of shared resource.

To create a workaround to this problem, do one of the following:
NOTE 1: User-level access permits you to add users from a workgroup or domain to the list of users who can access the shared folder, and to specify the access rights of each user. The logon to the domain or workgroup is used to authenticate the user instead of a password to the share.
NOTE 2: Share-level access permits access to the shared folder by specifying a password to access the share.
NOTE: 3: Access settings and passwords for a folder can be changed by right-clicking on the folder in Windows Explorer or 'My Computer', selecting 'Properties', and clicking the 'Sharing' tab.
NOTE 4: To change between user-level and share-level access, double-click the 'Network' icon in 'Control Panel', click the 'Access Control' tab, and select the desired radio button.
